KJE
Kids Joining Eternity was formed in Central Oklahoma with the intent to help parents, siblings, family members, friends and caregivers come to terms with the loss of a child whether it be through miscarriage, stillborn loss, sudden infant death, and/or chronic childhood illness.
The mission of Kids Joining Eternity is the pursuit of the following principles while showing those who suffered a loss, other people do CARE
C
Commitment
KJE is committed to establishing initial contact to empower the community to help others impacted by a similar loss.
A
Acknowledgement
KJE acknowledges their loss is real and tangible. Everyone has their own way of dealing with loss and that is ok.
Having a local, 501(c)(3) nonprofit whose sole purpose is in the area of bereavement and whose goal is to help existing organizations and the community connect with each other who have gone through similar losses is vital to our community.
R
Responsibility
KJE is people helping others, while at the same time, promoting individuals to be responsible for their own healing.
E
Encouragement
KJE encourages those impacted by the loss of a child in a caring, hopeful environment to help enrich their future.
It is our vision to bring everyone together to help improve, not only their mental health but also their quality of life. Our events offer both faith-based and community driven opportunities. We strive to help those in need enhance their future with their families and friends which will then enable them to give back to our community.
A few of the ways to join us
We love helping parents find joy again in every day life. We offer everything from walking groups and outings (Thunder games, mom’s night out and dad’s events) to remembering our children (through book donations to schools and remembrance ceremonies).
Please join us!
What parents have to say
No one should be alone after the loss of a child. We are here to help you find connection and HOPE in the midst of difficult times. Here are some comments from families who have Kids Joining Eternity.
Elizabeth and Terry Hepner
Terry and Elizabeth aspire to give back and donate their time by providing support to other grieving families in honor of their daughter Grace. The support they have received from Kids Joining Eternity not only helped them after the loss of Grace but also gave support and comfort during Elizabeth’s pregnancy with their second child. They hope to be able to extend that compassion and support to other families in need.
Tracy and Cooper Johnson
I am so thankful for Kids Joining Eternity because it has given me the support and encouragement I need to openly talk about my child. It has helped me deal with deep loss that comes with losing a child. I believe it is so helpful to connect with other families that have also had these life changing experiences, and not feel like I am alone in this struggle.
Lauren Kautz
When we lost our second child at just over 40 weeks, we were desperate to find others who had experienced the same type of loss. We felt so alone and were buried in a grief so deep, that no one in our immediate circle had experienced before. Finding KJE meant we were no longer alone. Meeting Melanie and JB gave us hope that we could overcome our hardest days, that we could have hope for our future. I will forever be grateful to KJE for meeting us at our darkest place and giving us a lifeline when we needed it most. We will always miss our daughter, but now we know that grief and joy can exist side by side.
